Malaysian Foreign Minister arrives in Havana to participate in the G77 Summit

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, YB Dato' Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, presides over the Malaysian delegation that arrived this Friday in Havana to participate in the Summit of the Group of 77 plus China.

The minister and his delegation were received today by the Director General of the General Division of Political Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Ambassador Gustavo Machín Gómez.

Cuba celebrates the Summit of the G77+China

One of the most important actions of the pro tempore Presidency of Cuba will be the Summit of Heads of State and Government, convened by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, on September 15 and 16, 2023, in Havana. Under the theme “Current development challenges: Role of Science, Technology and Innovation”, the leaders of each of the member states will have a space to decide on collective and practical actions in effectively confronting contemporary challenges, since as our President expressed: “Every minute counts in the search for solutions to the pressing problems of our people.”

President of Seychelles will attend G-77 and China Summit in Havana

Victoria, September 13, 2023._ The President of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde, departed on Wednesday night to Cuba to participate in the G77 and China Summit, which will take place in Havana on September 15 and 16. 

The news was released through a press release from the African nation's State House.  

According to the note, after the Havana Summit, President Ramkalawan will join other world leaders in New York to attend the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Preparations are underway in Cuba for the G77 and China Summit.

Preparations for the Summit of the Group of 77 and China, to be held on the 15th and 16th in this capital, are progressing today in different parts of the city.

The streets of Havana are decked out to receive the leaders and representatives of the member states of the bloc, which represents 80 percent of the world population and more than two thirds of the membership of the United Nations.

Group of 77 and China: the urgency of unity.

Convened by Cuba, as Chairman of the Group of 77 and China, the Summit of Heads of State and Government will be held in Havana on September 15 and 16 to discuss the theme "Current Development Challenges: The Role of Science, Technology and Innovation".

In 1964, Third World countries decided to join together to promote common positions in the world economy.  Since then, pressing problems were identified for the underdeveloped nations that demanded, as they still do, the right to economic and social development.

Cuba is ready to host the G-77 and China Summit

This week, on September 15th and 16th, the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the G-77 and China will be held at the Havana Convention Palace, under the theme "Current Development Challenges: Role of Science, Technology and Innovation", convened by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

In total, more than a hundred international delegations are expected to come to Havana, with the participation of more than 30 Heads of State and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

Cuban ambassador presented Letters of Credence to the Sultan of Brunei

Florentino Batista González presented this Saturday, August 12, the Letters of Credence that accredit him as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the State of Brunei Darussalam.

Batista González delivered the document to His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddin Waddaulah, who received the Cuban diplomat at the seat of government, the Nurul Iman Palace, located in the capital of the Islamic country, Bandar Seri Bagawan.

Paris, June 22. President Miguel Díaz Canel, representing the G77+China said: “Our peoples neither can nor should continue being the lab of colonial formulas and renewed forms of domination that use the debt, the current international financial architecture, and unilateral coercive measures to perpetuate underdevelopment and beef-up the coffers of a few at the expense of the South.  A new and more just international order is the utmost urgency.”
