Statement by the delegation of Cuba at the Segment on Permanent sovereignty of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and of the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan over their natural resources.

Cuba endorses the statement delivered by the distinguished delegation of the Republic of Guinea on behalf of the G77 and China.

We thank the Executive Director for her comprehensive presentation, and the members of the Bureau and the Secretariat for the preparations for this session. I would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to Ms. Fore for her service over the years at the helm of UNICEF in improving the lives of children around the world. I extend to her our best wishes.

Six years after the adoption of the 2030 Agenda, there is still a deep gap between the ambitious Sustainable Development Goals and international commitments to support their implementation.

In a complex global political, social and economic context, exacerbated by the aftermath of COVID-19, access to external financing, special and differential treatment in trade matters and international cooperation are crucial for middle-income countries.
