Mr. Chairman,
Our delegation fully supports the statement delivered by Indonesia on behalf of the Non-Aligned Movement.
Cuba reiterates its support for the total and complete prohibition and elimination, in a transparent, verifiable and irreversible manner, of all weapons of mass destruction; the only absolute assurance to prevent the acquisition and use of such weapons, even by terrorists.
Mr. Chairman,
Cuba reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting international cooperation in terms of human rights. We defend the principles of mutual respect, truth, justice, universality, impartiality and non-selectivity as the only way to promote and protect all human rights.
Higher priority and visibility should be granted to solving problems such as extreme poverty, illiteracy, lack of access to basic rights such as health, education and food, among others, which characterize the unjust international economic order.
Cuba associates itself with the statements delivered by the distinguished delegations of the State of Palestine on behalf of the Group of 77 and China, Bolivia on behalf of CELAC and Belize on behalf of the AOSIS.
Mr. Chairman,
The United Nations Development System is undergoing an ambitious reform process, at the threshold of the upcoming QCPR, which requires the effective implementation of the mandates undertaken in resolutions 71/243 and 72/279 of the General Assembly.
Mr. Chairman,
We welcome to the Fifth Committee the President of the General Assembly, H.E. Ambassador Tijjani Muhammad-Bande.
We thank the Under-Secretary-General for Management for her presentation on the financial situation of the Organization and the Department of Contributions for their continued support to Member States.
My delegation endorses the statement delivered by Palestine on behalf of the Group of 77 and China.
Mr. Chairman,
Mr. Chairman.
We thank Mr. Chandru Ramanathan for the presentation of the Secretary-General´s reports on the estimates in respect of special political missions, good offices and other political initiatives authorized by the General Assembly and/or the Security Council. We also thank Mr. Cihan Terzi, Chairman of the Advisory Committee, for the related reports of this body.
Mr. Chairman,
