Esteemed Dr. Natalia Kanem, Executive Director,

Esteemed members of the Executive Board and other delegations,

We thank the UNFPA Executive Director for her comprehensive remarks. We also seize this opportunity to recognize the efforts undertaken by UNFPA in striving for sexual and reproductive health and for the empowerment of women, adolescents and youth.

Distinguished members of the Executive Board and other delegations,

We would like to thank Administrator Steiner for his comprehensive statement and thoughts on the challenges we face on the path to development.

We also recognize the efforts made by UNDP to support our countries in achieving the sustainable development goals agreed in the 2030 Agenda.

Mr. President;

We congratulate you on your election. You can count on the Cuban delegation to work towards the success of the Tenth Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). We endorse the statement delivered by Azerbaijan, on behalf of the NAM Group of Member States which are party to the NPT.

76 AGNU: Statement at the quarterly open debate of the Security Council on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question. New York, 26 July 2022.

Mr. President,

We endorse the statement delivered by Azerbaijan on behalf of the Non-Aligned Movement and Senegal, in its capacity as Chair of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People.

Cuba maintains its historic and unchanging position in defense and solidarity with the just cause of the Palestinian people.

76 UNGA: Statement by Cuba at the UNGA plenary meeting on the veto under the agenda Item 124: "Strengthening of the United Nations system". New York, July 21st, 2022

Mr. President;

This is the second time we meet pursuant to resolution A/RES/76/262, entitled "Standing mandate for a General Assembly debate when a veto is cast in the Security Council."

The concerns and interpretations that our delegation placed on record, at the time of its adoption, remain fully valid.

H.E. Mr. Collen Vixen Kelapile, President of the Economic and Social Council,

Cuba attaches particular importance to the new partnership for Africa's development and welcomes the efforts made to strengthen it. We recognize that there is a long way to go to overcome the continent's underdevelopment resulting from centuries of exploitation of its natural and human resources.

Cuba associates itself with the statement delivered by the distinguished delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on behalf of the Group of 77 and China, and welcomes the convening of this Interactive Dialogue of the General Assembly, which seeks to give concrete expression to the commitments undertaken in environmental matters.

Cuba associates itself with the statement delivered by the distinguished delegation of the People's Republic of China on behalf of the Group of Friends of Global Development Initiative.

The current multidimensional crisis has one of its most serious manifestations in the increase of food insecurity, a consequence of the unjust world economic order and the persistence of unsustainable and irrational patterns of capitalist production and consumption.
