We endorse the statement delivered by Indonesia on behalf of the Non-Aligned Movement.
We gather today, in an unprecedented international scenario, where the COVID-19 pandemic is a challenge posed to all, generating a crisis of several and devastating effects not only for health but also on economy, trade and our societies in general, while nuclear stockpile is being modernized and enlarged, under the pretext of concepts or military doctrines of defense and security, which continue to threaten humanity.
Cuba associates itself with the statements delivered by the distinguished delegations of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana on behalf of the Group of 77 and China and by Belize on behalf of the Alliance of Small Island Developing States.
The COVID-19 pandemic, an unprecedented health, economic and social challenge, has highlighted the need for solidarity, cooperation and multilateralism as the only way to tackle the common challenges facing humankind and the planet.
First and foremost, we congratulate you and the members of the Bureau for your election and assure you of the full cooperation and support of Cuba for the development of a fruitful 75th session of the Sixth Committee.
