The group of Latin American and Caribbean (GRULAC) ambassadors residing in Helsinki offered a farewell meeting to the Cuban ambassador, HE Mrs. Beatriz Parra González, which was also attended by heads of missions from Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. The meeting, organized by the Mexican Ambassador, SE Sr. Enrique Rojo Stein, was attended by the Director General of Protocol at the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HE Mr. Mika Koskinen, and the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, HE Mr. Josip Buljevic, Ambassador of Croatia. In her remarks, the Caribbean head of mission thanked her colleagues for the support received and for the space granted to Cuba as coordinator of GRULAC during this period.

The Caribbean representative shared her gratitude to the President of the group MP Mr. Jouni Ovaska for his collaboration with Cuba during this period. Also to members like MP Mr. Ville Skinnari, MP Mrs. Inka Hopsu and Mrs. Katia Nolvi, the secretary of the Group, for all their collaboration.

The Cuban Embassy in Finland participated in the celebration of Namibia's 35th Anniversary of Independence, held in the Crypt of Helsinki Cathedral. During his keynote address, the Ambassador of Namibia, HE Mr. Charles B. Josob, referred to the importance of international support for achieving independence, mentioning among those countries the support of the courageous Cuban combatants who confronted the forces of apartheid. The Vietnamese Ambassador to Finland, HE Ms. Binh Pham, highlighted this Thursday the historic and close ties that characterize the political, cultural, and commercial relationship between Havana and Hanoi. During the meeting organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Helsinki to recognize the performance of the Cuban representative, Ms. Beatriz Parra González, in the context of the end of her mission in this Nordic nation, Ambassador Bihn also highlighted Cuba's role on the international stage.
