Cuba participates in activities for the 107th Anniversary of the Independence of Finland
Ambassador Beatriz Parra González, during the official greeting to President Alexander Stubb and the First Lady, Suzanne Innes-Stubb, on December 6, conveyed the congratulations of the Cuban Government and people to the Republic of Finland, at a time when she was accompanied by her son Manuel Alejandro Ávila Parra. The Caribbean diplomat thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen, for Finland's support against the blockade and the President of the Finland-Cuba Parliamentary Group, Jouni Ovaska, for the solidarity shown to the parliamentary motion that demands the exclusion of our country from the List of State Sponsors of Terrorism.
Cuba calls for preserving Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity
We have followed with great concern the events that have occurred rapidly in the Syrian Arab Republic, which led to the fall of the government of Bashar Al Assad by armed opposition groups. We make a firm call to preserve the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Syria, as well as to respect the integrity and security of the diplomatic missions based in that Arab nation. We are in permanent contact with our diplomatic staff, who are well, complying with the plans established for this type of contingency, with great discipline, unity and commitment.

The Cuban Embassy in Finland accompanied the ceremony of the presentation of the "Distinguished Mexicans" award to the talented dancer and choreographer Javier Torres for his outstanding artistic career. During the event held on the premises of the Mexican Embassy in Finland, Ambassador HE Mr. Enrique Rojo Stein, highlighted the distinction granted to the current Artistic Director of the National Ballet of Finland, from where he continues to promote magnificent dance shows. The Caribbean Ambassador, Beatriz Parra González, congratulated Maestro Torres and shared her admiration for his praiseworthy work in Helsinki, where he has had the opportunity to share the stage with renowned figures of the National Ballet of Cuba. A welcome opportunity to reaffirm the historic cultural ties that unite Cuba and Mexico.
Cuban dance school celebrates 31st anniversary in Finland
With the incomparable rhythm of Cuba we celebrated this Saturday the 31st anniversary of the dance school "Baila Baila". Ambassador Beatriz Parra González and Consul Adalberto Ávila thanked the team led by Miguel San for their permanent promotion of Cuban artistic values in Finland. They also appreciated the opportunity to share with the compatriots present there, brought together by good music, under the colors of our flag. Happy 31st Anniversary to Baila Baila!
