Statement by H.E. Mr. Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, at the High-Level Segment of the United Nations General Assembly marking the seventy fifth Anniversary of the United Nations. September 21th, 2020.
On the seventy fifth anniversary of the United Nations, multilateralism and international Law are being threatened by the greatest power in the world. The US irresponsible behavior is the biggest threat to international peace and security. It instigates conflicts, non-conventional and trade wars and imposes severe unilateral coercive measures. In an arms race of its own making, it squanders resources that are indispensable for the sustainable development of our peoples, while refusing to cooperate to confront the multiple crises generated by the devastating COVID-19 pandemic.
Cuba´s Foreign Minister will address the High-Level Meeting of the General Assembly to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the UN.
Havana, 17 September 2020. - Cuba´s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, will speak, next 21 September, at the high-level event, which will be held virtually to mark the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.
The Cuban Foreign Minister will reaffirm the commitment to the principles of International Law, the strengthening of multilateralism and international cooperation.
Expofotos “With Cuba in the heart” in Athens dedicated to Cuban doctors and CDR anniversary
Athens, 16 September. The photographic exhibition “With Cuba in the heart”, was inaugurated in the Labor Center, in the Athenian neighborhood of Nueva Smirny, whose board organized the event together with the Embassy of Cuba in Greece. The exhibition is the work of Jose Oriol Marrero Martinez embassy counselor and it will be on display throughout September. This exhibition has already been presented 15 times in cities in Greece.
Cuba elected to occupy a seat, starting in January 2021, in ECOSOC’s subsidiary bodies
New York, 15 September 2020. The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), composed of 54 Member States, elected Cuba con monday to occupy a seat, starting in January 2021, in the following subsidiary bodies: the Commission on Population and Development, the Executive Board of the UN Development Programme / UN Population Fund / UN Office for Project Services and the Committee for Programme and Coordination.
