St. George, October 25th, 2023. In solemn remembrance, we gathered today at the Mausoleum at the Maurice Bishop International Airport, Point Salines, St. George, Grenada. This ceremony was held to honour the 24 Cuban Internationalist workers who lost their lives in the fight to defend Grenada on October 25, 1983.
The Mausoleum stands as a symbol of our enduring respect and gratitude to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We pay our respects and remember their contributions to the shared history of our nations.

Your Excellency Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic;
Your Excellencies Presidents Gustavo Petro and Cyril Ramaphosa;
First of all I would like to express my gratitude for the invitation to attend this Summit for a New Global Financing Pact that could also be a new starting point towards a more comprehensive intergovernmental discussion and decision-making process within the framework of the United Nations.
WE STAND WITH NANCY MOREJON
NANCY MOREJON -- the outstanding Afro-Cuban poet and intellectual-- is one of the greatest daughters of our Caribbean Civilization.
And so, when the organizers of France's internationally acclaimed poetry festival -- "Le Marche de la Poesie (The Poetry Market) -- inexcusably and unconscionably withdrew the invitation that they had extended to Nancy to be this year's honorary President of the Festival, they were directing their insult not merely to Nancy alone, but to all of us Caribbean people !
