Cuban Delegation attends the Trade and Investment Exhibition of Guyana (GuyTIE, 2018) as guests

Georgetown, September 20, 2018. The Ambassador of Cuba, Narciso R. Amador, attended the opening ceremony of the Guyana Trade and Investment Exhibition (GuyTIE, 2018) with the participation of a Cuban delegation represented by Dr. Celia Labora, the Director of International Relations of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, and Laura Vives, the Regional Sales Manager of FARMACUBA Company.

Graduation Ceremony in Guyana of 19 doctors trained in Cuba

Georgetown, 26-09-2018. On Saturday, August 25th, 2018 took place at the Convention Centre, Arthur Chung, the graduation of 19 doctors trained in Cuba, of them 11 Guyanese, 4 of St Kitts and Nevis, 3 of Saint Lucia and 1 from Malaysia.

The graduation ceremony was presided by the representative of the Department of Public Services of Guyana, Vincent Alexander, who encouraged the graduates to cultivate the spirit of service, avoid individualism and provide health service of excellence to the most needed communities.

Representative of the Federation of Cuban Women and the Center for Sexual Education of Cuba participate in the Twentieth Biennial Convention of the National Congress of Guyanese Women

Georgetown, August 21, 2018. Last Monday, August 20, the Twentieth Biennial Convention of the National Congress of Guyanese Women took place in this capital, in which a representation of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) and Representative of the National Center of Cuba for Sexual Education (CENSEX),participated as special guests.  The event was attended by more than 500 women, representing the whole country.

The Embassy of Cuba made the farewell of 9 Guyanese students who were granted scholarships to study medicine on the island.

Georgetown, on August 15, 2018. At the Embassy of Cuba, a farewell ceremony was held today for 8 Guyanese students who travel to the largest of the Antilles to begin their studies in Medicine. On the Guyanese side, Reginald Brotherson, Permanent Secretary of the Department of Public Services and Ms. Soyinka Grogan, official of the Ministry of Education of Guyana, participated.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Rogelio Sierra Díaz, concluded a visit to Guyana.

Georgetown, June 14th, 2018.- During his stay in Guyana, Vice Minister Sierra Diaz developed an extensive program that included courtesy calls to President David Granger, Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo and Minister of State and Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs, Joseph Harmon, and the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Audrey Waddell.  The leaders agreed to recognize the value of the historic relations between Guyana and Cuba that date back to 1972, when this one and three other Caribbean counties decided bravely to break the diplomatic siege imposed by the United States to the Cuban island.
