Cuban ambassador meets with Philippine Secretary of the Department of Health

The Cuban ambassador concurrent to the Philippines, Florentino Batista González, met in Manila with the Secretary of the Department of Health of the Asian nation, HE Teodoro Herbosa.

During the courtesy visit of the Cuban diplomat, topics of interest to both countries were discussed, especially those related to cooperation in health issues and to promoting projects in this sector, both bilaterally and regionally.

This visit was also useful to reiterate the common objectives of both nations in issues related to biotechnology and the development of medicines and vaccines.

Riyadh, May 18th - The Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajil, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Vladimir Gonzalez, at the ministry's headquarters, located in the so-called Digital City. The director of International Relations of that Organization, Sara Al-Sayed, also attended the meeting.

Bushrod Island, March 4, 2020 - Today, Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera made a working visit to Oniyama Specialist and Teaching Hospital.

At said Clinic we have two pillars that we are proud of, the Cuban doctor Mercedes Banqueris, Specialist in Internal Medicine, and the laboratory technician Michael Mator, a Liberian who graduated in Cuba and is a member of the Liberia-Cuba Solidarity Association.

The Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Cuba, committed to the solidarity and humanistic principles that have guided Cuba’s medical cooperation for 55 years, has been participating in the Program More Doctors for Brazil since its inception in August 2013.  This initiative launched by Dilma Rousseff, who was at that moment the president of the Federal Republic of Brazil, pursued the double purpose of guaranteeing medical assistance to the majority of the Brazilian people, following the principle of universal health coverage promoted by the World Health Organization.
