PRESS RELEASE: THE RESULTS OF THE CELEBRATION OF THE 7th CONGRESS OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CUBA.

From 16 to 19 April was held in Havana, the 7th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, coinciding with two significant historical events for the Cuban people: first the 55th anniversary of the Bay of Pig Victory - an armed aggression, financed and organized by the government of John. F. Kennedy in 1961 to topple from its inception the genuinely revolutionary process and second, the proclamation of the socialist character of the Cuban Revolution; just a few hours before combating the aforementioned invasion.

Cuba and India exchanged on multilateral issues

INDIA, April 12sd, 2016.- The Ambassador of Cuba in India, Oscar I. Martínez Cordovés, held a meeting whit the Joint Secretary UNES (Economic and Social Affairs United Nations) Puneet Agrawal, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the occasion, they examined issues related to the successful and growing cooperation in multilateral affairs that has existed between both countries for 56 years, and other international relations matters.

US Blockade against Cuba Condemned in India

India, Mar 4 2016. The Church of North India (CNI) a Protestant denomination with more than 1.5 million faithful, condemned today the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed the United States against Cuba for more than 50 years.

During a religious ceremony at a temple on the occasion of World Day of Prayer, this year devoted to Cuba, Communication Secretary of the CNI, Sushma Ramswami, demanded the end of this punitive measure.

Ambassador of Cuba in India pays tribute to 24 February at University of Delhi.

India, 25 February 2016. The Students and Faculty members of Hispanic Studies of the Department Germanic & Romance Studies, University of Delhi, organized yesterday in that institution a seminar on 'Latin America Today', with particular reference to Cuba. The activity was attended by the ambassadors of Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador and Venezuela as keynote speakers.

India ratifies desire of its Government to strengthen bilateral relations with Cuba.

India, February 22, 2016. The Joint Secretary of Latin America and Caribbean Division at the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Mr. Ashok Das, received the Cuban ambassador in this country Oscar I. Martinez Cordovés.

During the cordial meeting, both diplomats assessed the issues and areas where there are opportunities to move forward the ties of cooperation for the development of bilateral relations.

Commemorative event in India for the 163 anniversary of the birth of Jose Marti.

New Delhi, February 10, 2016. In coordination with the Embassy of Cuba, the public school in India that is named after José Martí celebrated the 163 anniversary of his birth with a political-cultural gala attended  by H.E. Mr. Oscar Martinez Cordovés, Ambassador of Cuba and Mrs. Parmila Tokas, a member of the Indian Parliament as guests of honor.

Commemorated in India the 163 Anniversary of the birth of the Cuban National Hero José Martí.

India, January 28, 2016. This afternoon took place at the Embassy of Cuba to this country, a heartfelt ceremony of tribute to the National Hero of Cuba in the 163 anniversary of his birth.

 

The Cuban Ambassador designated Oscar Martinez Cordovés and three young Cuban pioneers spoke a few words in which was stressed the significance of the thought of José Martí, its universal scope, as well as its successful revolutionary and literary work.

The Cuban Ambassador designated Oscar Martinez Cordovés had yesterday the opportunity to greet and briefly exchange with the Minister of Trade and Industry (with independent charge) and Minister of Finance, H. E. Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman. This meeting was in a cordial and friendly atmosphere during the reception hosted by the president of the nation, H. E. Mr. Pranab Mukherjee to the Heads of Mission accredited in the country as part of the celebrations for the 67th anniversary of India Republic Day.

Indian press highlights the intervention of the Cuban Ambassador designated in this country

New Delhi, January 12 th 2016. The New Indian Express, published fragments of the intervention of H.E.  Mr. Oscar Martinez Cordovés, new Ambassador of Cuba designated to India during his participation in a symposium on “Left alternative”. This activity was at the 4th International Congress on Kerala Studies organized by the Indian Communist Party Marxist, from 9 to 10 January 2016 in that Indian state.
