The birthday celebration of the Commander in Chief was held in Indore, the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

Indore, August 13, 2016. Vineet Tiwari, General Secretary of the Association of Progressive Indian Writers from the state of Madhya Pradesh, along with other leaders of political organizations, women's, labor, academic and other members of solidarity with Cuba India, gathered to pay tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution. The assembled gathering celebrated the 90th birthday of Fidel Castro Ruz in an enthusiastic activity where they projected videos, songs and poems about the life and work of the Commander in Chief.

AIPSO West Bengal observes Fidel’s 90 Birthday.

West Bengal, August 13 2016. The All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO) West Bengal state committee organized a discussion on the eve of Fidel Castro’s 90th birthday in Kolkata and the theme of the discussion was ‘Fidel means live head high”

Attended by many people from various walks of lives in Rammohan Hall in Kolkata, the age old auditorium where the programme took place is also closely associated with the rich culture of Bengal where Rabindranath Tagore, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy delivered historic speeches.

New Delhi, August 12, 2016. The collective of the Cuban State Mission along with the company of children, youth, academics, diplomats, leaders and members of Solidarity with Cuba group in New Delhi, and other friends of the island dressed in traditional dresses like Sari, met in an emotional activity to honor the National Rebellion Day and the celebration of the 90th birthday of the leader of the Cuban Revolution.

The birthday

Tomorrow I will turn 90 years old. I was born in a territory called Birán, in the eastern region of Cuba. It’s known by that name, although it has never appeared on a map. Given its good conduct it was known for close friends and, of course, a stronghold of political representatives and inspectors involved in any commercial or productive activity typical of the neocolonized countries of the world.

Cuban culture festival celebrated the 90th birthday of Fidel at the University of New Delhi.

New Delhi, August 10, 2016. The Department of Germanic Languages and Spanish at the University of New Delhi, in coordination with the Embassy of Cuba in India organized a Festival of Cuban Culture from the 10 to August 13 to pay tribute to Fidel with documentaries, exhibitions of posters, paintings, poems, plays, music and dance at the headquarters of the University of Delhi.
