Iran wants to resume the historic collaboration with Cuba in the sports field
Ambassador Vladimir González Quesada had an interview with Dr. Ahmad Nategh Noori, president of the Iran Boxing Federation (IBF) interested in resuming the historic collaboration with Cuba in this sports discipline. The meeting was also attended by Ruhollah Husseini and Ali Daneshmanfar, vice president and secretary of the federation, respectively.
As long as the blockade persists, Cuba will maintain the strong claim to end it
With the support of Iranian friends from solidarity organizations, particularly the House of Latin America (HOLA), the Embassy of Cuba in Tehran held a press conference with media to denounce once again the US blockade imposed on the Island for more than five decades, and to announce the presentation of a draft resolution at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) by the twenty-fifth consecutive time to demand an end to this unfair policy.
President of the Islamic Republic of Iran will visit Cuba
Responding to an invitation by Army General Raul Castro Ruz, next September 18th the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Dr. Hassan Rouhani, will start an official visit to Cuba. He will arrive to Havana from Venezuela, where he is going to participate in the XVII Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
During his stay on the Island, Dr. Rouhani will hold official talks with his Cuban counterpart and it is expected that important bilateral agreements will be signed in the context of the visit.
Cuba and Iran aim to revive its scientific collaboration
A delegation of the Cuban scientific sector, headed by Dr. Luis Herrera Martinez, Scientific and Commercial Advisor of the Higher Business Management Organization “BioCubaFarma”, arrived in Tehran for talks with Pasteur Institute of Iran. Upon arrival at the Iranian capital the delegation was received by representatives of this institute and the Ambassador of Cuba, Vladimir González Quesada.
Cuban Ambassador signed book of condolences at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tehran
The Ambassador of Cuba, Vladimir González Quesada, visited the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tehran to sign the book of condolences opened on the occasion of the recent passing away of the President of this nation, S.E. Mr. Islam Abduganievich Karimov.
The Head of Mission recorded in the book of the deepest condolences on behalf of the Cuban people and government. He also expressed regret to the family of the late president and solidarity with the Uzbek people and government by this unfortunate incident.
