Belfast, June 22, 2018. After the courtesy visit to the Mayor of Belfast, Fernando had the opportunity to make a brief tour of the city where he was shown the physical limits that were imposed in the past and that delimited the neighborhoods between Catholics and Protestants, between unionists and republicans, as well as scenarios of confrontations and authoritarian repressions.

Belfast, June 22, 2018. On his arrival in Belfast, Fernando Gonzalez Llort, Hero of the Republic of Cuba and President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, was received by Deirdre Hargey, Mayor of the city, who welcomed him to the historic city, second in importance of the island.

Fernando had the opportunity to visit the Palace headquarters of the Mayor's Office and learn about the history of the city, its people and this particular building.

Dublin, June 21, 2018.  The “Liberty Hall”, historical headquarters of the SIPTU union was the scene chosen for the realization of a fraternal meeting of Fernando Gonzalez Llort, Hero of the Republic of Cuba and President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, with Irish personalities and organizations in solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.

Dublin, June 21, 2018. In the "Mansion House", official headquarters of the City Hall of Dublin, building with 300 years of history, was received Fernando Gonzalez Llort, Hero of the Republic of Cuba and President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Towns by its Mayor Micheál Mac Donncha.

After the welcome offered by the Mayor, Fernando had the opportunity to tour the property and learn details of its history closely linked to the development of the city and the constitution of Ireland as an independent Republic.
