Since its start, the José Martí Project has propitiated a large international movement aimed at expanding the legacy of the Apostle and National Hero of Cuba. This has already become evident in the convoking capacity and in the number of activities connected with Martí that take place in the most dissimilar world regions and countries, including the awarding of the José Martí International Prize of UNESCO.

Today is a special day. The 160th Anniversary of the birth of José Martí, our National Hero is celebrated.
Ambassador Alvarez Núñez says that January is an importan, special month for Cuba, as it is also the month in which Cuba celebrates the 59th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution.

The historical memory and the Latin American duty bring us once again to pay tribute to one of the most universal men, poets, thinkers, and revolutionaries: José Martí. In this occasion, we do it at the forthcoming 165th anniversary of his birth this 28 January.
Ulaanbaatar. February 10, 2017. The School No.52 "José Martí" in Ulaanbaatar, hands over the prizes for the contest "The José Martí I Know" in the categories of Literary Essay and Drawings. Students from the 5th to 12th grade participated. The award ceremony was presented by Cuban Ambassador Raúl Delgado Concepción, who exhorted the winners to continue studying the life and work of the Cuban National Hero.

The Canadian-Cuban Friendship Association in Toronto (CCFA- Toronto) organized last Saturday a traditional cultural event to celebrate the 164th anniversary of Cuba’s National Hero, José Marti. Copenhagen- On the eve of celebrating the 164th anniversary of the birth of the Cuban National Hero, José Martí, the Danish newspaper Arbejderen published an article that pays tribute to the Cuban patriot. The publication highlights the anti-imperialist and Latin American thinking of Martí. At the same time, the article honors Fidel Castro and reflects the link between both historical personalities as well as highlights Fidel's inspiration in the ideas of Martí, which served as a guide to the leader of the Cuban Revolution to carry out his immense revolutionary work.
