Cuban Vice-President talked with Kenya's Health Minister in Nairobi.

Nairobi, January 31. The Minister of Health of Kenya, Dr. Cleopa Kilonzo Mailu, received in Nairobi the Vice President of the Council of State of Cuba, Salvador Valdés Mesa, who made a brief transit through this city, after presiding the delegation of his country to the 28th Summit of The African Union, held in Ethiopia.

5th CELAC Summit: Maintaining unity within diversity

The 5th Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) will take place January 24-25, in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic. “Cuba will attend the event hoping to contribute to strengthening the Community founded in 2011 and in the same way strengthen unity within diversity,” stated the island’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abelardo Moreno, speaking during a January 18 press conference.

Cuban tourism expected to grow

HAVANA.— Officials from Cuba’s Ministry of Tourism reiterated that the sector is expected to grow in 2017, declared International Sustainable Tourism and Development Year by the United Nations.

According to figures cited on Cuban television program Mesa Redonda, the Caribbean nation expects to receive 4,200,000 visitors this year, after over four million arrived to the island for the first time in 2016, representing a 14.5% increase as compared to the previous year.
