In Liberia, commemoration of the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, and the 173rd anniversary of the birth of José Martí

The Friendship Association with Cuba and the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia celebrated the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, the year of the Centennial of Fidel Castro, and the 173rd anniversary of Cuba's National Hero.

Those present, graduates from the island, Friends of Cuba, and Liberian authorities recognized that this year, 2026, marks the tenth anniversary of the reopening of the Cuban embassy in Monrovia and the 52nd anniversary of relations between the two nations.

Young people who recently graduated from medical school on the island visited the Cuban Embassy and expressed their gratitude to the Cuban people and the Liberian government for selecting them to study in the Caribbean.

Cuban Ambassador Dr. Indira Lopez Arguelles welcomed them and wished them success in their new careers. She reiterated the high commitment they have made to their people and to Cuba to practice their profession with love and to convey to their families and friends the truth about life in Cuba and what they have observed on the Caribbean island.
