Cuban scientist in Wellington presents advances on the research to achieve a new vaccine

Wellington 20 November- In the framework of the 2015 Student and Postdoc Symposium organized by the MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology of the University of Victoria, Majela Gonzalez Miro, young scientist of the Finlay Institute, who is part of a collaborative project between this Cuban entity and the Polybatics Company presented on the progress of her investigation. The prestigious Massey University, located in the city of Palmerston North, New Zealand, serves as headquarters for this project.

Friends of Cuba in Wellington reiterate their condemnation of the blockade

Wellington, 17 November - Gathered to welcome the Ambassador of Cuba, the friendship society with the largest of the Antilles in Wellington, reiterated its condemnation of the blockade and reaffirmed the willingness of this group to maintain its contribution to the international fight for its total elimination. Pat Bolster and Gillian Magee, Chairman and Secretary of the organization respectively, confirmed that this fight will remain at the center of its solidarity work.

 Wellington, October 12, 2015. The Cuban film "The Booby Prize," fiction film produced in 2009 under the direction of Juan Carlos Cremata, was the movie selected to start the Latin American cinema session on October the 9thin the town of Ashhurst, located in the New Zealand city of Palmerston North.

The Ashhurst Community Library, venue of this event, was attended by a large group of spectators, fans of Cuban cinema and culture, who along with representatives of the Embassy, shared an evening full of Cuban identity.

Call to continue the fight to end the blockade against Cuba

Blackball, New Zealand, 2 May 2015. As part of the International Workers' Day activities Antonio Guerrero’s painting exhibition "I Will Die As I’ve Lived" was inaugurated in the Museum of Working Class History in this city, and it was attended by a large number of people, including the Mayors of the cities of Greymouth and Buller District, Mr. Tony Kokshoorn and Mr. Garry Howard, union leaders, other local authorities, friends of solidarity from several cities in New Zealand and public in general.

Blackball, New Zealand, 2 May 2015. As part of the International Workers' Day celebrations, the Ambassador of Cuba Maria del Carmen Herrera Caseiro was invited to participate in the Sustainable Economy Forum in New Zealand’s West Coast region, occasion in which she delivered an extensive presentation on the process of updating the Cuban economic model and the recent developments in the relations between Cuba and the US.
