Cuba joins the international community on the celebration of the Human Rights International Day this December 10th, having the certainty that in this Caribbean nation, the full exercise of political rights and civil liberties, as well as economic, social and cultural rights, is guaranteed.

The triumph of the Revolution in 1959, led by the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, made possible that Cuban men and women could achieve significant advances in the enjoyment of the human rights.

(..) Humanity should be aware of what we have been so far and what we cannot continue to be. Presently, our species has enough accumulated knowledge, ethical values and scientific resources to move towards a new historical era of true justice and humanism. (...)

THE BAHAMAS, December 10th, 2016. - After two intense days of exchange, Cuba and The Bahamas concluded the IV Round of Migration Talks, which took place on December 8th to 9th in Nassau, the capital of the Caribbean country.

THE BAHAMAS, December 9th, 2016. -The Director of the Department of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroadof the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, held a meeting at the Embassy of Cuba in The Bahamas with a group of Cubans residents in the Caribbean country.

In the afternoon of Friday, December 9, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, Ms. Marjon Kamara, received the Director General of Bilateral Affairs of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Gerardo Peñalver Portal. For the Liberian side, the meeting also included Mr. Dephue Zuo, Deputy Minister for International Cooperation and Economic Integration; Mr. Sie-Teba Neufville, Director for American Affairs and Mr. Dave Kontue, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation and Economic Integration.

In the afternoon of Friday, December 9, the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Liberia, Mr. Saah 'Ntow Charles, paid a courtesy call to the Director General for Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Ambassador Gerardo Peñalver Portal. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Liberia, in the presence of the Cuban Chargé d'Affaires in that African nation, Yordenis Despaigne Vera and the Second Secretary Carmen Maury.

In the morning of Friday, December 9th, 2016, the official ceremony of reopening of the new headquarters was held by the diplomatic mission of Cuba in Liberia. On behalf of the Liberian side the event was chaired by Mr. Sylvester Grigsby, Minister for Presidency Affairs, was also accompanied by Mr. Conmany Wesseh, Senator and great friend of Cuba. Other members of the presidency were Mr. El  Hadj Abdoulaye Doré, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Liberia, and Mr. Farid Zarif, Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Liberia.
