Trinidadian Minister of Health receives Cuban Ambassador.

Port of Spain, February 27 - The Minister of Public Health of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Terrence Deyalsingh, received Guillermo Vázquez Moreno, ambassador of Cuba to the Caribbean island, at the institution's headquarters. The Minister was accompanied by Richard Madray and Dr. Roshan Padasran, permanent secretary and chief of medical assistance of the Ministry.

The parties discussed several topics of bilateral interest, among which stands out the continuity and perspectives for the strengthening of the fruitful and recognized relations of bilateral cooperation in the medical sector, as a result of which a hundred Cuban health collaborators work at the moment., which includes doctors, nurses and pharmacists. At present, both countries are working on updating the bilateral cooperation agreement. Likewise, was discussed the status of the projects under evaluation that will allow the entry to Trinidad and Tobago of important Cuban medicines.

Cuban Hospital sees sharp rise in patient visits

Doha: The Cuban Hospital has seen a sharp rise in the patient visits over the past five years. The hospital recorded 74,331 outpatient visits and 4,536 inpatients in 2017, compared to 256 inpatients and 17,345 outpatients it registered in 2012. The number of surgeries performed at the hospital increased from 259 in 2012 to 3,100 in 2017. It also recorded 677 births in 2017 a major jump from nine births in 2012, according to senior officials at the Cuban Hospital. “Cuban Hospital provides all medical and surgical services in more than 25 specialties.

Secretary General of the CTC arrives in Iran

Tehran, February 25, 2018. Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, Secretary General of the Central Workers Union of Cuba and Member of the Political Bureau of our Party, arrived in Tehran to attend the 2nd Presidential Council of the World Federation of Trade Unions, an organization of which is vice president. During his stay in Iran, the top leader of Cuban workers will hold bilateral meetings with union leaders from various countries and especially with the House of Workers of the Islamic Republic of Iran, whose institution will convey the solidarity of Cuban trade unionists.

Last Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting Cuban Ambassador to Belize – Her Excellency Lissette Perez Perez.

After an overview of our work within the Maya Golden Landscape, we visited Chiquin's Family Farm to talk about agro forestry and other climate smart farming practices which we are promoting in southern Belize.

Cuban delegation participates in Seminar on Disaster Prevention in the Caribbean.

Port of Spain, February 28, 2018.-  A Cuban delegation headed by the Cuban Ambassador in Trinidad and Tobago, Cro. Guillermo Vázquez Moreno, participated in the Seminar on Disaster Prevention in the Caribbean that was held in Port of Spain, organized by the International Red Cross.
The event was attended by various personalities from the region, international organizations and governments of CARICOM.

Aotearoa Cuban  - A weekend of dance and celebration in Rotorua.

In a wonderful and charming environment of celebration for Cuban music, took place from February 23 - 25 the 2018 edition of the Aotearoa Cuban Festival.

As every year, the event brought to this beautiful and gorgeous city, a space of knowledge, rhythms, dances and Cuban culture in general.

More than two hundred enthusiasts for Cuban music from New Zealand and Australia made it to the Festival.

Cuban and Maori rhythms got a interesting opportunity to mix and produce a magic blend of cultures.
