Ambassador of Cuba to South Africa participates in the 55 ANC Conference

Pretoria, December 18, 2022.- The Ambassador of Cuba to South Africa, Enrique Orta González, participated in the 55th National Conference of the African National Congress (ANC), acompannied by the Third Secretary of the Embassy, Bryan Betancourt Brito. At the Conference, the Ambassador conveyed a congratulatory message to the ANC on behalf of the Communist Party of Cuba, especially its First Secretary, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

Cuba and Cambodia boost medical cooperation

The willingness of the Cuban Government to strengthen medical collaboration with the Kingdom of Cambodia was ratified by meeting between José Angel Portal Miranda, Cuban Minister of Public Health, and Or Vandine, Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Health. Ms. Vandine said she was glad to be in the Island to learn about its health care system and conveyed her government’s appreciation that Cambodian students can become doctors in Cuba’s medical schools, in line with her country’s intention to expand this service as based on the Cuban experience.

Tribute to the Cuban Five Heroes in Toronto

The General Consulate of Cuba in Toronto participated in a virtual meeting organized by the Canadian Network on Cuba to pay tribute to the Cuban Five Heroes: Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González and René González.


Among the main speakers at the event were Issac Saney, Bill Ryan and Cuban Consul Sabdiel Lafargue, who focused his speech on the impact of the blockade as a form of terrorism against Cuba. In addition, representatives from different groups of solidarity with our nation also participated.


Cuban delegation participates in intense COP15 negotiations

As part of the negotiations of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 15), being held in the city of Montreal, the Cuban delegation, headed by the Deputy Minister of CITMA, Adianez Taboada, actively participated in the High-Level Segment, being her speech the main activity of the day.

On December 16, the third ministerial consultation was held, during which our delegation reiterated its approach on that the goals should be global, based on scientific information, and ambitious but realistic.

South African President expresses gratitude to Cuba at the inauguration of the 55 ANC National Conference

Pretoria, December 16, 2022.- The president of South Africa and president of the African National Congress (ANC), Cyril Ramaphosa, expressed the deep gratitude of the South African people to Cuba for its support in the fight against apartheid, during the opening speech of the 55th National Conference of the party.

Norwegian InFIL Foundation makes a monetary donation to Cuba

Oslo, December 16, 2022. The InFiL Foundation made a monetary donation to Cuba of 500,000 NOK, to help the recovery process from the damage caused by the fire at the Supertanker Base of Matanzas and the hurricane Ian in the western part of the country, particularly in the province of Pinar del Río.

The Norwegian organization decided to do that after realizing that the effects of those catastrophes came to aggravate the negative impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against the Island for more than 60 years.

Cuba attended the 17th National Conference of the Students Federation of India.

The International Session of the 17th National Conference of the Students Federation of India (SFI), held on December 15 in the city of Hyderabab, was inaugurated with the reading and approval of the draft resolution of solidarity with Cuba and condemnation of the damages caused by the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the government of the United States on the Cuban people.  

Hispanic-American ambassadors in Finland share with MFA Chief of Protocol at the end of 2022


Helsinki.- December 16th, the group of Ibero-American Ambassadors accredited in Finland said goodbye to 2022 with the presence of the new Chief of Protocol of the Minister for Foreing Affairs, H.E. Mr Mika Koskinen. During the meeting, we learned about new measures that will contribute to the performance of the Diplomatic Corps in its functions. It was a pleasure to say goodbye to the year with such pleasant company and learning about the new projects that our group is planning for next year.
