Pakistani doctors graduated in Cuba: an example of achievement and altruism

Islamabad, August 30, 2023._ Adnan Qasim is a neurosurgeon in Dera Ghazi Khan, a city of 400,000 inhabitants in southeastern Punjab. Jamal Nasir, a surgeon in a clinic in his native Jhelum, about 120 kilometers from Islamabad. Akram Asi, a cardiologist, likes to be called Carlos. Dr. Rabia, a gynecologist, is a consultant at two hospitals in Islamabad. They all have something in common: they are graduates of the Latin American School of Medicine in Cuba.

Pakistan's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs receives Cuban ambassador.

Islamabad, April 28, 2022 _Pakistan's new Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar, today expressed her country's determination to consolidate friendly and cooperative relations with Cuba and its people.

While receiving Cuban ambassador Zéner Caro on a courtesy call, the Pakistani diplomat also fondly recalled the assistance provided by the island to her country after the earthquake that devastated the South Asian nation in October 2005.

Islamabad, March 21.  Ali Hassan was only 10 years old when a powerful earthquake devastated much of northern Pakistan. According to what he has just told Prensa Latina, he keeps in his memory the moment when Cuban doctors arrived in that distant area of the South Asian geography.
