Cuban Ambassador congratulates the new New Zealand Foreign Minister.

 

Wellington, November 2. Cuban Ambassador Edgardo Valdés congratulated, through the Embassy's twitter account, the new cabinet and especially Nanaia Mahuta, New Zealand's first female foreign minister.

In his message, the Ambassador expressed Cuba's willingness to work together to strengthen the bilateral relationship and promote a more just and sustainable world order.

The new chancellor is a prominent member of the Maori community and from positions in the Government has promoted projects for the benefit of those most in need.

Exchange about Cuban foreign policy at NZIIA event.

 

Wellington, October 27. The Cuban Ambassador, Edgardo Valdés López, made a presentation on Cuban foreign policy and its priorities in the world today, at an event sponsored by the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs (NZIIA), held at Victoria University.

Members of the Wellington chapter of the Institute, academics, university professors and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade attended.

It was a wide and interesting exchange that contributed to the knowledge of the Cuban reality and our interaction with the world.

 

Cuban Ambassador presents business opportunities in Cuba at LANZBC event.

Auckland, October 22. At an event organized by the Latin America / New Zealand Business Council (LANZBC), in the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, the Ambassador of Cuba, Edgardo Valdés López and the New Zealand businessman Geoff Marsland, from the Havana Coffee Works (HCW) company , presented to more than one hundred young professionals, entrepreneurs and executives of LANZBC, the new business and investment environment in Cuba and the concrete experience of HCW.

Ambassador of Cuba visits Napier.

 

Napier, October 17. The Cuban Ambassador, Edgardo Valdés López, visited the city of Napier, where he met with the mayor, H.W Kristen Wise.

In a friendly conversation, they exchanged about Cuba and Napier and evaluated possible forms of cooperation, particularly in the cultural sphere and the promotion of tourism.

Cuban Ambassador participates in a round table on business opportunities.

Wellington, October 7. Cuban Ambassador, Edgardo Valdés López, participated in a round table organized by the Latin American chapter of the Asia-Pacific Council for Excellence (Latam / CAPE) at the School of Government and Business of the University of Victoria.

The event was attended by Ambassadors or seconds from the GRULAC countries accredited in New Zealand, to promote business and investment opportunities in their respective countries.

New Zealand Ambassador to Cuba appointed

 

Wellington, October 6. The New Zealand Foreign Ministry appointed Sara Meymand as the new Ambassador to Cuba, with residence in Mexico.

Meymand is a young and talented diplomat, specialist in business negotiations.

Cuba has already granted its approval and we hope to work together to promote our good bilateral relations.

Cuba and New Zealand also have broad coincidences on important issues on the international agenda.

 

Cuban Ambassador promotes greater knowledge of Cuba and the Caribbean in New Zealand.

Wellington, September 15. Cuban Ambassador Edgardo Valdes had an extensive and interesting exchange with Karim Dickie, President of the Wellington section of the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs (NZIIA) and Executive Director of the Caribbean Council.
They talked about Cuba, the Caribbean and their relationship with New Zealand.
Both agreed to work together for a better understanding of these issues and to disseminate business and investment opportunities in Cuba.

Cuban Ambassador visits the city of Whanganui

New Zealand,September 6.-Cuban Ambassador Edgardo Valdés visited the city of Whanganui, where he held a fraternal meeting with Mayor Hamish McDouall. They talked about the possible cultural exchange between that city and Cuba, and agreed to work together to bring to Whanganui the photographic exhibition "Cuba through kiwi eyes", an excellent set of photos of the island taken by New Zealand tourists.
The Cuban Ambassador was also interested in efficient agricultural production in that fertile region.
