Cuban ambassador to Sri Lanka participated in an act of solidarity with Palestine

Colombo, November 30. The ambassador of Cuba in Sri Lanka Andrés Marcelo González Garrido participated in an act of solidarity with Palestine, which was celebrated on November 29, a date decreed by the UN in 1977, as a global demand for respect for the sovereignty of this sister nation.

During the activity, members of the Sri Lankan government, representatives of organizations in solidarity with Palestine and different political parties spoke.

Colombo, November 25, 2024. Vijitha Herath, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tourism and Foreign Employment of Sri Lanka, received Cuban ambassador Andrés Marcelo González Garrido at the Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, he congratulated him on his recent appointment, following the completion of the electoral process and the formation of the new government, and they examined the most important bilateral issues.The ambassador provided information on business opportunities in Cuba and other events to be held in Cuba, including tourism.

Colombo, November 22. The Cuban ambassador to Sri Lanka, Andrés Marcelo González Garrido, was received at the Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry by C.A. Chaminda I. Colonne, Director General of Latin America and the Caribbean.

During the pleasant meeting, they reviewed bilateral aspects and outlined lines of work for the continuation and strengthening of diplomatic relations, which this year 2024 are celebrating 65 years of establishment.
