Cuban president will be spokesperson for the countries of the South at the annual meeting of the United Nations
New York, September 17, 2023. The President of the Republic of Cuba and President of the Group of 77 and China, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, heads the Cuban delegation to the high-level segment of the 78th regular session of the Assembly General of the United Nations.
On this occasion, the participation of the Cuban leader in the New York meeting will have a special significance, due to the responsibility that comes with representing the interests, aspirations and legitimate claims of the 134 countries of the South grouped in the G77.
