"Cuba ensures food import despite U.S. blockade"
Havana, April 4th. - The Cuban Government ensures the importation of essential food items, despite the restrictions imposed by the United States, stated today Oscar Pérez-Oliva, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (Mincex).
Speaking on the audiovisual program "Desde La Presidencia," hosted by President Miguel Díaz-Canel, Pérez-Oliva detailed that the island's basic basket of goods heavily relies on imported products, and this process still feels the effects of post-pandemic Covid-19 recovery.
First Vice President of the Uppsala Communal Council receives the Cuban Ambassador
Stockholm, April 2, 2024 - At the headquarters of the Communal Council of the City of Uppsala, First Vice President Carl Lindberg received the Ambassador of Cuba.
The traditional ties of friendship that have united Cuba with that city, as a result of university exchanges and with regional authorities, were part of the exchange.
Meeting of the Cuban Ambassador with the President of the Swedish Peace Council
Stockholm, April 1 - A cordial meeting took place at the Cuban Embassy in Stockholm, between the President of the Swedish Peace Council, Hans Örns, and the Cuban Ambassador, Alba Soto Pimentel.
The exchange was conducive to addressing Cuba's work in favor of Peace, and the upcoming celebration of the International Seminar for Peace and the Abolition of all Foreign Military Bases, which will take place in Cuba next May, organized by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) in conjunction with the World Peace Council (WPC).
The Most Reverend Martin Modéus, Archbishop of the Church of Sweden, receives the Ambassador of Cuba
Stockholm, March 28 - During the visit made by the Ambassador of Cuba, Alba Soto, to the City of Uppsala, she was received by the Most Reverend Martin Modéus, Archbishop of the Church of Sweden.
In the courtesy meeting requested by the Cuban diplomat, she offered information to the Most Reverend about current Cuban affairs and the actions taken by the Cuban State to guarantee the exercise of various religious beliefs as well as respect for the rights of those who profess them.
