Cuban ambassador to Thailand receives Cuban boxing team
Cuban Ambassador to Thailand, Hector Conde Almeida, welcomed the Cuban boxing team that will compete in the 2017 International Boxing Tournament to be held in Bangkok from 4 to 8 April. In addition to Cuba, the following 16 nations with a long tradition in this sport will participate in the event: Australia, Qatar, China, South Korea, the Philippines, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. The Cuban team is made up of 7 athletes and two coaches.
Ambassadors from the Latin American and Caribbean countries represented in Bangkok say goodbye to Mr. Songsak Saichaue
Ambassadors from the Latin American and Caribbean countries represented in Bangkok had a farewell get together to say goodbye to the Director General of the Latin American and South Pacific Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Mr. Songsak Saichaue, who will soon assume his new responsibility as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand in Austria.
At the cordial meeting, the good status of bilateral relations between Thailand and GRULAC was reaffirmed and the permanent support of Mr. Songsak to the countries of the region was appreciated.
President of Cuba expresses solidarity with Peru over disasters
Lima, Mar 20 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Raúl Castro Ruz expressed his condolences to the human and material damages suffered by Peru, in a message to his counterpart, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, published here.
'I have known the human and material damages caused by the torrential rains that have struck Peru. Receive sincere condolences, which I extend to the Peruvian people and the families of the victims, "said the Cuban leader.
Cuba agrees to extension on trade agreement with CARICOM
HAVANA, Cuba (CMC) — Cuba is providing the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries with an extension of the agreement on trade and economic cooperation which facilitates access to the Cuban market for hundreds of CARICOM products, according to an official statement issued on Monday.
It said that the issue was discussed at the fifth CARICOM-Cuba Ministerial meeting that was held last Saturday.
According to the statement, the agreement also provides for trade between the parties.
Cuban Ambassador to Thailand submits copy of the Letter of Credence
THAILAND, March 10, 2017.- The Director General of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Ambassador Chakri Srichawana, received the new Ambassador of Cuba in Thailand, Héctor Conde Almeida, for the presentation of Letter of Credence.
In the cordial meeting at the headquarters of this Ministry, was confirmed the good status of bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the progress and potential of existing cooperation in the fields of biotechnology applications, tourism and sports.
