Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Cuba calls for the International Fair, FITCuba 2024

The International Tourism Fair is the most significant professional event held annually by the Cuban tourism industry. A few weeks remain until the celebration of FITCuba 2024, between May 2 and 5 in Jardines del Rey, province of Ciego de Ávila. This year the event is of particular importance as it will host ministers and leaders of the sector from the Americas and the Caribbean, as well as the main authorities of the United Nations branch. The participation of other professionals in the sector is also expected, especially tour operators, airlines, businessmen and entrepreneurs.

Tourism University of Azerbaijan promotes collaboration with Cuba

The rector of the University of Administration and Tourism of Azerbaijan (ATMU), Ilham Madatov, praised the collaboration between Havana and Baku during a meeting with the ambassador of Cuba in this Caucasian nation, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo.

Madatov expressed the will of his center to promote ties with the island and encourage the preparation of its students through university exchange programs in Cuban institutions.

Turkish Airlines a bridge between Baku- Istanbul-Havana

Turkish Airlines, the flagship airline of Turkey, on its flights from Baku-Istanbul- Havana, maintain a sustained flow of tourists to the Island.

During the meetings held between the general manager in Baku of Turkish Airlines Inc, Ilyas Seyfullah, and the Cuban ambassador, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, it was highlighted that the company is satisfied to reach Cuba and transport hundreds of avid travelers to know their culture and his people.

Flights to Havana operate three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays in both directions.

Increase travel of Azerbaijani tourists to Cuba

With the management of the wholesale tour operator Daytours Caribbean, Azerbaijani tourism began to increase its presence in Cuba since the beginning of this year 2019.

In conversation between the Cuban ambassador and the directors of this agency based in Istanbul and Havana, Altug Ugurola and Dayana Barreiro, it was learned that with the promotion held in Baku, in the fall of 2018, an interest has been awakened in this Caucasian nation for the Island.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Georgia, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, and the Deputy Head of the Georgian National Tourism Agency, Rusudan Mamatsashvili, held a meeting to evaluate the cooperation of both nations in that matter, as part of the visit of work that the diplomat develops in this Caucasian nation.
At the meeting, the vice-minister of tourism gave a detailed presentation on the particularities of tourism in Georgia and highlighted that in 2018 more than 7 million tourists arrived in their country.

AZERBAIJAN, CUBA DISCUSS PROSPECTS FOR TOURISM COOPERATION

Chairman of Azerbaijan`s State Tourism Agency Fuad Naghiyev has met with Cuban Ambassador to the country Alfredo Nieves Portuondo to discuss prospects for tourism cooperation.
The sides stressed the importance of friendly relations between the two countries.
“Cuba is always interested in participating in the International Tourism and Travel Fair in Baku,” the Cuban ambassador said.
Alfredo Nieves Portuondo invited Fuad Naghiyev to attend a tourism event to be held in Havana in May, 2019.

Cuba participated in the Tourism Fair "Ferie for Alle" held from 23 to 25 February in the city of Herning, Denmark. This event is considered the largest of its kind in the Scandinavian region, with an average of more than 61 thousand visitors and 1100 exhibitors in the last five years. Within the framework of the fair, the potentialities of the Cuban tourist industry were promoted, through exchanges with the main tour operators, travel agencies and the Scandinavian public who could count on updated information on the products and tourist modalities offered by the Island.

Deputy Minister of Tourism ratifies Cuba will be fully recovered for high season

During a working visit to Spain, the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cuba (MINTUR) Mr. Luis Miguel Díaz, met with the local press in the Madrid offices of Grupo Excelencias.

In this meeting, the deputy minister thanked the press for its quick response in such a short notice and for the opportunity to meet with the main tour operators, airlines and specialized press to give them an update of the situation of Cuban tourism, its state and recovery after the passing of Hurricane Irma.
