The Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States will attend the biennial meeting of ECLAC. Meeting with the Cuban Ambassador

Port of Spain, May 3, 2018. The Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), Ambassador Dra.June Soomer, will participate in the thirty-seventh session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the most important biennial meeting of the regional organization, which will take place from May 7 to 11 in Havana.

Ministry of Education of Trinidad and Tobago launches the call for Cuban scholarships to study Medicine (2018-2019).

Port of Spain, May 1st.- The Ministry of Education of Trinidad and Tobago published the call for the 5 scholarships for Medical Studies (3 undergraduate and 2 postgraduate) offered annually by the Government of Cuba to young Trinidadians for the academic year 2018- 2019. The initiative is part of the agreements and commitments of Cuba with the countries that make up CARICOM, fruit of which 5,432 young people from the Caribbean have been trained as professionals in Cuban Universities, of them around one hundred Trinidadians. Currently, 723 young Caribbean students are studying in Cuba.

Award of Honour granted to the Cuban Medical Brigade in Trinidad and Tobago.

Port of Spain, May 29th, 2018. In a solemn ceremony held at the City Hall headquarters of Port of Spain, the Cuban Medical Brigade was awarded for their services, the Award of Honour which the National Security Officers Foundation (NSOF) grant annually.

The award was received by the Cuban Ambassador, who referred in his speech to the work developed by the Cuban collaborators during 15 years of uninterrupted work. It also signified the internationalist work carried out by Cuba in the different regions of the world.

Delegation of Trinidad and Tobago present in the activities for May 1st in Cuba.

Port of Spain, April 26, 2018. A delegation of the Trade Unions of Trinidad and Tobago will be present at the activities in Cuba on May 1st.

The delegation consists of 11 members of the various unions, including the sectors; Banking, Energy and Petroleum, Public Administration, Agriculture, among others. Delegates from the Solidarity with Cuba Association are also included.

They will also participate in the solidarity event to be held in the framework of the celebrations for International Workers' Day.
