Cuba and Uganda exchange on preparations for the G-77+China Summit.
Kampala. Between May 15 and 19, a delegation headed by Ambassador Pedro Luis Pedroso, Special Representative and Coordinator of the Presidency of Cuba of Group 77 plus China, visited Uganda, country who will host the Summit of Heads of State of said group to be held in January 2024.
During his stay, he developed a program that included exchanges with the Organizing Committee of the event and with the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as well as toured the main facilities prepared to host this great event.
Cuba and Uganda discussed about bilateral cooperation relations in the education sector.
Kampala. On May 9, the day Cuba and Uganda celebrated 49 years of diplomatic relations, the Ministries of Education of both countries held a virtual exchange to discuss cooperation in the education sector.
The Ugandan delegation was chaired by Dr. Jane Egeu, Permanent Under Permanent Secretary and the Cuban delegation by Yipsian Rodriguez, Head of the Department of Technical and Vocational Education.
The rich exchange concluded with the commitment to work together to contribute to the improvement of this education in the African nation.
Olympic Committees of Cuba and Uganda sign Memorandum of Understanding.
Kampala. On the morning of May 4, the Cuban Embassy in Uganda hosted the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Olympic Committee of the Republic of Uganda and the Olympic Committee of the Republic of Cuba.
The legal instrument was signed by Dr. Donald Rukare, President of the Uganda Olympic Committee and the Ambassador of Cuba Tania Perez Xiques on behalf of Roberto Leon Richards, President of the Cuban Olympic Committee.
