Honorable Deputy Speaker of Ugandan Parliament hosts Cuban Ambassador on the occasion of the end of her duties.
Kampala. At noon on November 12, the Honorable Thomas Tayebwa, Vice President of the Parliament of the Republic of Uganda, received the Cuban Ambassador Tania Pérez Xiqués, on the occasion of the end of her diplomatic mission in that country.
In a cordial atmosphere, they evaluated the results of the period and the priorities that should be addressed in the next stage of work.
The Cuban diplomat thanked the support received from that legislative body during her work in Uganda.
Ugandan Vice President bids farewell to Cuban Ambassador.
Kampala. On the morning of November 5, the Honorable Jessica Alupo bid farewell to Cuban Ambassador Tania Perez Xiqués, who is completing her diplomatic mission in that country.
In an emotional meeting, the Ugandan dignitary praised the progress made in bilateral relations between Uganda and Cuba, highlighted the meetings held with the Cuban President and Vice President, as well as her visit to Havana on the occasion of the Group of 77+China Summit in September 2023.

Kampala. On the morning of November 6, the Honorable Bangirana Anifah, Minister of State for the Ministry of Health of Uganda received Cuban Ambassador Tania Pérez Xiqués, who is concluding her diplomatic mission in that country.
It was an opportunity to review the progress of the ongoing bilateral projects and to thank the Ministry for the support received in concluding the negotiation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the regulatory authorities of Uganda (NDA) and Cuba (CECMED).

Kampala. On the morning of November 5th at the headquarters of the Ugandan ruling party “National Resistance Movement” (NRM), the Cuban ambassador Tania Perez Xiqués began her farewell program as head of diplomatic mission.
The Secretary General of the NRM Richard Todwong and the Director of External Services Awich Pollar received the Cuban diplomat and exchanged views on the results and challenges of the relations between the ruling parties of Uganda and Cuba.
Ugandan MPs Join Global Push to Remove Cuba from U.S. Terrorism List
A group of Ugandan Members of Parliament has joined over 600 lawmakers from 73 countries in demanding the United States remove Cuba from its list of state sponsors of terrorism.
The MPs include; Dr. Charles Ayume, Andrew Ojok Oulanyah, Judith Alyek, Atukwasa Rita, Rwemulikya Ibanda, Onore Derrick, Twaha Kagabo, and Kintu Florence Tumwine. They signed the global letter, which calls for an end to what they term as the “cruel and illegal” sanctions imposed on Cuba, citing the damage they inflict on the island nation’s economy and its people.
