Press Release: “Cuba reiterates its commitment to sustainable peace”.

New York, 24 January 2017. As part of the High Level Dialogue “Building Sustainable Peace for all: Synergies between the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Sustaining Peace”, the Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Ambassador Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, reiterated today that peace is much more than the absence of war while noting that sustainable and lasting peace cannot be achieved unless the complex problems of social and economic development affecting our nations are solved, particularly those of the South.

New York, 17 January 2017. Cuba, once again, condemned today the “very complex” situation in the Middle East, marked by “instability and insecurity”. At the Security Council Open Debate on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question, Ambassador Humberto Rivero Rosario, after mentioning statistics that describe the severity of the situation considered that the figures, as alarming as they seem, do not show the real magnitude of this reality for Palestinian families and for future generations of Palestinians.
