Many thanks, I’m grateful to you all for being here. I have to report that Washington has decided to exclude the Republic of Cuba from the preparations for the 9th Summit of the Americas to be held in Los Angeles on 8th to 10th June and is presently exerting extreme pressures on numerous governments in the region which, privately and respectfully, oppose our exclusion.
British CWU calls for the end to US blockade against Cuba
London, 26 April (Prensa Latina) The British Trade Unionist and General Secretary of the Communications Workers Union (CWU) Dave Ward on Tuesday called for the end to the US blockade and redoubled solidarity with Cuba.
In line with a CWU´s annual congress held in Bournemouth, a coastal city in southern England, Mr. Ward said he was born in 1959 when the Cuban revolution triumphed and the unilateral measure imposed by Washington has been in effect for over 60 years.
Cuba Embassy in the UK attends seminar on Cuban medical internationalism.
London, March 10. – As part of the seminar series organized by the International Institute for the Study of Cuba, attached to the University of Buckingham, Dr. John Kirk, Emeritus Professor of Latin American Studies at the Canada’s Dalhousie University, made an online presentation entitled Cuban Medical Internationalism: One of the World’s Best-Kept Secrets, in which he analysed the collaboration that Cuba has provided in the world in the field of health.
Cuban Ambassador participates in Women in Foreign Policy event
London, 10 March.- The Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Bárbara Montalvo, participated in an event hosted by Canning House on women in diplomacy. The conference, held online and moderated by Canning House's CEO, Cristina Cortés, also featured the Ambassadors of Nicaragua and Panama in the United Kingdom, and the Special Envoy for gender equality at the Britain's Foreign Office.
