ADDRESSING the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday September 21, President Joe Biden announced a new direction in US foreign policy.
“Instead of continuing to fight the wars of the past, we are fixing our eyes on devoting our resources to the challenges that hold the keys to our collective future,” he said.
Eight months into his presidency there is no sign that he wants to end a war of the past when it comes to US policy on Cuba.
Cuban Ambassador participates in a virtual event of solidarity with Cuba during the British Trade Union Congress.
London, 13 September 2021- The Cuban Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Bárbara Montalvo Álvarez, participated this Monday in a virtual event of solidarity with Cuba, in the context of the 153rd British Trade Union Congress (TUC), which is taking place from 12 to 14 September.
During her speech, the Cuban diplomat reiterated her deep gratitude to the TUC and the British trade unions for their support and solidarity with the Cuban people and workers, especially during the pandemic.

Joti expresó que el pensamiento y la obra de Fidel, no solo eran importantes para Cuba, sino que trascendía las fronteras de ese país por su universalidad.

London, 9 August 2021- The Cuba Solidarity Campaign in the United Kingdom held a virtual event on Monday entitled "What´s going on in Cuba? And why the US blockade needs to end now!" Among its panellists were the Cuban Ambassador to the UK, Barbara Montalvo; British MPs Grahame Morris, also chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Cuba, and Richard Burgon; the General Secretary of the Unite Trade Union (the biggest of its kind in the UK), Len McCluskey; Bolivian reporter, Ollie Vargas, and Cuban journalist, Cristina Escobar.
Friends of Cuba in the United Kingdom highlight the example of the island worldwide, during the presentation of the documentary “Mi primera tarea”.
London, 8 August 2021- Members of the Cuba solidarity organisation "Rock Around the Blockade" (RATB) and the Revolutionary Communist Group in the United Kingdom highlighted this Sunday that the island constitutes a paradigm for progressive forces worldwide, on the occasion of the virtual presentation of the documentary “Mi primera tarea” (My first Task). They also recognised the country's achievements in education, health and sports, mentioning in particular the results obtained by Cuba at the Tokyo Olympic Games, where it came 14th in the overall medal table by country.
