On March 11, the Embassy of Cuba in Zimbabwe celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. Ambassador Carmelina addressed the audience expressing the importance it has for Cubans on January 1, 1959, when the rebels led by Fidel Castro defeated Batista's dictatorship and a government of the people and for the people was established in Cuba. She also reviewed several of the achievements obtained during these 60 years and the constant struggle to which we have been subjected by the crude blockade imposed by the United States on our island.
In the afternoon of today, the Cuban ambassador in Zimbabwe, Carmelina Ramirez, was received by the member of the political bureau and ZANU PF International Relations Secretary, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi in his office. The Zimbabwean leader thanked Cuba for its contribution to the independence of several African countries as well as the preparation of young professionals through the granting of scholarships.
A vote on the Constitutional Referendum begins in Zimbabwe, a historic day for Cubans, which will express our revolutionary commitment, the #SiporCuba. The three electoral colleges located in the provinces of Bulawayo, Harare and Mutare opened their doors early, following the stipulations of our Electoral Law.
On the morning of yesterday, February 7th, Carmelina Ramírez Rodríguez presented the Letter Credentials that accredit her as an ambassador of Cuba to the government of the Republic of Mauritius. The Ambassador was received by the acting president of that country, His Excellency Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory, at the seat of the government of the capital of that country, Port Louis.
