The Studio room of the New Star Cinema in Athens was once again the scene of an emotional meeting to honor and remember the Heroic Guerrilla, Commander Ernesto Che Guevara, and to commemorate, on this occasion, the 56th anniversary of his fall in Bolivia.
Several speakers, including the Cuban ambassador, Aramís Fuente Hernandez, gave speeches in which they highlighted transcendent aspects of Che's life and work, his very high human qualities, as well as the validity of his ideas and thought, such as imperishable legacy for the present and future generations of Cuba and the world.
The speakers also highlighted the evidence that Che is one of the great and prominent symbols of the contemporary era, as well as the coherence and consequence that characterized his performance as a human and revolutionary paradigm.
Che has gone down in history as a model of the new man like the one he himself dreamed of for humanity. Che lives and is today, more present than ever, in the enormous challenges that our people face.
The documentary “Che in Bolivia” by director Rebeca Chávez was also screened.
