The 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution is celebrated in Zimbabwe

On March 11, the Embassy of Cuba in Zimbabwe celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. Ambassador Carmelina addressed the audience expressing the importance it has for Cubans on January 1, 1959, when the rebels led by Fidel Castro defeated Batista's dictatorship and a government of the people and for the people was established in Cuba. She also reviewed several of the achievements obtained during these 60 years and the constant struggle to which we have been subjected by the crude blockade imposed by the United States on our island. She thanked the strong bonds of friendship between Cuba and Zimbabwe and exhorted to continue working on strengthening them. Present at the celebration were heads of mission, members of the diplomatic corps, members of the government of Zimbabwe, members of ZICUFA, graduates in Cuba, members of the BMCZ and representatives of the Cuban community residing in this country.
