Zimbabwe's ZANU-PF highlights historic relations with Cuba

Harare, February 19, 2025 – The Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF), Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, reiterated today to the Ambassador of Cuba, Her Excellency Susellys Perez Mesa, the nation's long-standing support for the Caribbean island.

Upon receiving the Head of Mission at ZANU-PF headquarters, Mumbengegwi highlighted the historic bilateral ties and Harare's firm stance against the more than six-decade-long US blockade.

Harare, February 13, 2026 – The “Let Cuba Live” plea from prominent U.S. figures is featured today in Zimbabwe’s leading newspaper, The Herald, condemning President Donald Trump’s executive order to intensify the blockade against the island by cutting off its fuel supplies.

The international petition, signed by elected officials, artists, and civil society organizations in the United States, asserts that the measure will worsen humanitarian conditions by cutting off the island’s access to oil and energy supplies.

HIT welcomes Ambassador to Zimbabwe and emphasizes ties with Cuba

Harare, February 10, 2026 – The Vice-Chancellor of the Harare Institute of Technology (HIT), Professor Quinton C. Kanhukamwe, today praised the collaboration with Cuba in science and technology upon receiving Ambassador Susellys Pérez Mesa.

The relations between the two countries in the areas of higher education and innovation are mutually beneficial and aligned with the 2030 Strategy presented by President Emmerson D. Mnangagwa, stated the head of HIT.
