Fraternal meeting of Ambassadors of Cuba and Ethiopia in Zimbabwe

Harare, May 6, 2025 - The Ambassadors of Cuba to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Ms. Susellys Pérez Mesa, and of Ethiopia, His Excellency Mr. Rashid Mohammed Abdulwahid, held a fraternal meeting today. The diplomats, in addition to discussing the excellent relations with the host country, highlighted the role of the Caribbean nation in the struggle for the liberation of Africa. Ambassador Pérez Mesa acknowledged the traditional support of this continent in the battle against the inhumane blockade imposed on the island by the United States for more than 60 years.

Cuban Ambassador Attends Tribute to New IOC President

Harare, April 29, 2025 – The Cuban Ambassador, Her Excellency Ms. Susellys Pérez Mesa, attended today's tribute to Kirsty Coventry, former Minister of Sports, Culture, and the Arts of Zimbabwe and new President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Perez Mesa greeted Coventry during the celebration organized by the Ministry of Women's Affairs, Community, and Small and Medium Enterprise Development at the Rainbow Towers Convention Center in Harare.

Online Seminars in Search of Opportunities between Zimbabwe and Cuba

Harare, April 22, 2025 – Ministries and institutions from Zimbabwe and Cuba continued their online seminars today with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation in various areas.

 

Ambassador Susellys Pérez Mesa attended the second day of these meetings, which included the participation of officials from the Zimbabwean Ministries of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and the Cuban Ministries of Foreign Trade and Investment, as well as Paul Chikawa, Head of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission in Havana.

 

Zimbabwean Minister of Health at Cuba Salud 2025

Harare, April 21, 2025 – Zimbabwe's Minister of Health and Child Welfare, Dr. Douglas T. Mombeshora, is leading the African nation's delegation to Cuba Salud 2025, starting today at the Havana Convention Center.

 

Mombeshora plans to participate in the One Health as a Comprehensive Health Strategy panel and in discussions on public health management models at the global, regional, and local levels, as well as those focused on strengthening health systems in the post-COVID-19 era.
