With music and typical plates from each country, Vietnamese and Cubans said goodbye to the year 2019, and made a toast to the arrival of 2020, whose first day marks the 61st anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.
In this fraternal meeting held in a convention center of the Vietnamese capital, Cuban ambassador, Lianys Torres Rivera, mentioned the Cuba and Vietnam successes in 2019, and highlighted that the new year will be special, because both countries will have several celebrations to commemorate six decades of diplomatic relations.
For his part, the permanent vice president of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, Nguyen Duy Cuong, referred to the historic brotherhood ties that unite both peoples, and reiterated the support for Cuba in its fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade, imposed by the United States.
Every December 31, several generations of Vietnamese graduated in Cuban universities remember their days in the Island, by celebrating with the Embassy the arrival of the new western year and the Cuba National Day.
On this occasion, the Cuban State Mission in Hanoi, members of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, of the Club of Vietnamese graduated in the Island, of the Ho Chi Minh Trail Veterans Association, as well as teachers and students from Hanoi University, attended the celebration.
