Vietnamese, Cuban Party leaders holds phone talks

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam held phone talks with First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel on January 26 evening (local time). The Cuban leader congratulated the CPV on the successful organisation of its 14th National Party Congress, and extended congratulations to the newly elected Party Central Committee, Politburo, and General Secretary Lam on their election to key leadership positions for the new term. General Secretary Lam expressed sincere thanks to First Secretary and President Díaz-Canel and Party and State leaders of Cuba for their close attention to the CPV’s major political event, as well as for their warm and heartfelt congratulations extended to the Party and people of Vietnam, and himself personally.

Major Cuban media outlets, including Prensa Latina, ACN, Juventud Rebelde and Granma – the official organ of the Communist Party of Cuba – have given extensive coverage of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), highlighting the Party’s leadership role in guiding Vietnam into a new stage of development.

According to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) correspondent in Havana, the Cuban media has closely tracked the Congress from its preparatory session on January 19, widely informing the public about this important political event of the Vietnamese people.

Vietnam-funded school highlights enduring Vietnam–Cuba friendship

A ceremony was held on January 9 to inaugurate the Mártires de Tarará Primary School in Ben Tre Village, Bauta district, Artemisa province, a facility built with financial support from Vietnam’s Ben Tre province.

Addressing the event, a representative of the local authorities said the school stands as another vivid symbol of the strong and lasting ties between Cuba and Vietnam, two nations that consistently prioritise education for younger generations in pursuit of a brighter future and the well-being of their people.
