Vietnam joins international community in calling for end to US blockage against Cuba

Minister Counsellor Nguyễn Hải Lưu, Deputy Permanent Representative of Việt Nam to the United Nations (UN), has reaffirmed Việt Nam’s consistent position in support of the immediate, complete and unconditional lifting of US economic, trade and financial embargo measures, including those with extraterritorial effects, against Cuba. The Vietnamese representative expressed concern over the increasingly severe difficulties facing the Cuban people, particularly restrictions on energy supplies that have disrupted the operations of hospitals, schools and water supply systems, as well as food production and transport, while hindering humanitarian assistance activities.

Vietnam and Cuba reaffirm strategic alliance and economic cooperation at BRICS Summit

Fidel Castro remembered in Vietnam on his 100th birth anniversary

Quảng Trị Province on Thursday held a ceremony marking the 100th birth anniversary of Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro (August 13, 1926–2026), honouring his enduring legacy and his special contribution to the friendship between Việt Nam and Cuba. The ceremony was jointly organised by the Provincial People’s Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba at Fidel Castro Park in Đông Hà Ward.
