Provincial Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Loi welcomes Cuban Ambassador Rogelio Polanco

Comrade Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation chaired a meeting to welcome comrade Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam, on his courtesy visit to Binh Duong’s leaders. The meeting was also attended by comrade Bui Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments and agencies.

At the reception, comrade Nguyen Van Loi expressed his honor in welcoming the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam.

Cuban national hero José Martí Pérez commemorated in Hanoi

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) and the Cuban Workers' Centre (CTC) held a ceremony in Hanoi on March 8 to commemorate Cuban national hero José Martí Pérez. José Martí, born in January 28, 1853 in Havana, was a prominent thinker and cultural figure, and a unyielding revolutionary who made significant contributions to Cuba’s national independence in the late 19th century. He was the first Cuban to lay the foundation for the brotherhood between the people of Vietnam and Cuba.

Speaking at the event, VGCL Vice President Huynh Thanh Xuan said that Cuba was the first country in the Western Hemisphere to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam (December 2, 1960).

Vietnam – Cuba rice cultivation partnership thrives

VNA — A golden sweep of ripening rice fields now blankets Los Palacios district, Pinar del Río province of Cuba, heralding a breakthrough in agricultural cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.

This success story is the fruit of a pioneering partnership between Vietnamese company Agri VMA and local Cuban farmers, surpassing all expectations. In just three months, a 16-ha pilot project cultivating the CT16 rice variety delivered an average yield of 7.2 tonnes per hectare. This achievement is part of a larger 1,000-ha initiative aimed at transforming Cuban rice cultivation.

Cuban delegation visits Quang Tri, boosting Vietnam-Cuba friendship

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang on March 6 received a high-level delegation from the Cuban Workers Centre led by Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes.

Quang emphasised that the Vietnamese people, including people of Quang Tri, always keep in mind the special sentiments that the Communist Party and people of Cuba gave to the province during the struggle for independence.

Việt Nam, Cuba strengthen cooperation in education publishing

A delegation from the Việt Nam Education Publishing House (VEPH) led by its Chairman of the Members' Council and CEO Nguyễn Tiến Thanh paid a working visit to Cuba to strengthen cooperation in the publishing field between Việt Nam’s Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba.

During a meeting with the delegation, Cuban Minister of Higher Education Walter Baluja García expressed his desire to enhance cooperation with the Vietnamese ministry in publishing books, particularly digital books to keep pace with current development trends.
