Havana photo exhibition highlights Vietnam – Cuba relations

The long-standing and close ties between Cuba and Vietnam were spotlighted at a photo exhibition hosted by the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Havana on October 21, part of activities marking the 65th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and seven Asian countries, including Vietnam. The other Asian countries that are celebrating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Cuba are Cambodia, India, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Indonesia, China, and Mongolia.

Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Anayansi Rodriguez highlighted the significance of the exhibition.

Vietnamese, Cuban media agencies strengthen professional cooperation

Nhan dan (People) Newspaper of Vietnam and Granma Newspaper of Cuba, the official organs of the Communist Parties of the respective nations, have agreed to enhance professional cooperation to promote communications about the two parties' policies and leadership in the context of today’s rapidly changing international landscape.

At a working session in Havana, Yoerky Sanchez Cuellar, member of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and Editor-in-Chief of Granma, affirmed that one of the newspaper’s key focuses is to report on the Vietnam – Cuba relationship, helping to strengthen the special solidarity, friendship, and comprehensive cooperation between the two brotherly nations.

Cubans in Vietnam commemorate National Culture Day

Compatriots residing in this capital and members of the Cuban State Mission in Vietnam gathered to commemorate National Culture Day. “On this date, it’s necessary for us all to remember the heroic struggles of our people, but above all, the unity that has led us to move forward and reach the achievements of the Revolution,” Rogelio Polanco, the island’s ambassador here, stated at the meeting. The diplomat emphasized that Cuba is the homeland that grows when each of its children, wherever they are, loves it and fights for it. He pointed to the community of fellow citizens living here as an example of this, as even thousands of miles away, they keep alive the culture, traditions, patriotism, and soul of the Cuban nation.

Vietnam joins Granma–Rebelde int'l press festival, promoting truthful journalism

Nhan dan (People) newspaper of Vietnam is joining the first Granma–Rebelde international press festival in Havana, Cuba.

The October 17-20 event, bringing together more than 20 domestic and international media organisations, marks the 60th anniversary of the founding of Granma, the official mouthpiece of the Communist Party of Cuba, and Juventud Rebelde (Rebellious Youth) – the newspapers founded by Fidel Castro Ruz, Commander in Chief of the Cuban Revolution.

Vietnam participate at the 3rd International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Left-wing Parties and Movements in Cuba

Representatives from communist parties and left-wing movements appreciated Vietnam’s revolutionary theory closely linked with its development realities and the trends of the times at the 3rd International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Left-wing Parties and Movements, held from October 16-18, in Cuba. Phan Xuan Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation, led a delegation to attend the event where he shared some theoretical and practical issues related to the new era of development in Vietnam. During their participation in the meeting, the Vietnamese delegation held meetings with Politburo member, permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee, and head of the committee’s Organisation Commission Roberto Morales Ojeda, and some senior Cuban officials.
