Oslo, September 28, 2022. The staff of the Embassy of Cuba in Norway commemorated the 62nd anniversary of the foundation of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR).
Diplomats from the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and representatives of the solidarity movement with Cuba in this country participated in the activity organized for such a significant date.
The Ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, made a speech in which she highlighted the origins of the CDRs and the dissimilar tasks that they have undertaken since their foundation in 1960 to the present, proving to be a useful and necessary organization in all stages of the Revolution. To illustrate this, she mentioned the participation they had in the consultation process and popular referendum of the Family Code and the initiatives that they are promoting right now in support of the recovery efforts after the hurricane Ian hit Cuba.
