The denunciation of the blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba and the unfair and unfounded presence of the Island on the List of States that allegedly sponsor terrorism, was a fundamental component of the event organized in this city by the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association to pay tribute to Ernesto Che Guevara.

Oslo, October 11, 2024. On the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the fall in combat of Ernesto Che Guevara, members of the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association, the Communist Party of Norway, Cuban and Latin Americans friends living in this country, diplomats from the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and the staff of the Embassy of Cuba, ​​took part in a political and cultural event held in this capital on October 9 to pay a well-deserved tribute to the heroic guerrilla figther.

On October 2, during a reception that took place at the end of the State Opening of the 169th  Storting (Norwegian Parliament), the Cuban ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, along with her colleagues from the Diplomatic Corps, had the opportunity to greet and interact with relevant Norwegian personalities, including the Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Støre, and the Second Vice President of the Storting, Nils T. Bjørke, of the Centre Party (SP), re-elected to that position in the constitutive session of the legislative body that took place on October 1.

Oslo, October 7, 2023. Along with her female colleagues from the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Norway, the Cuban ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, participated in a meeting with the Minister of International Development of Norway, Anne Beathe Tvinnereim.

It was a great opportunity for listening to the Minister's views and assessments on topics of interest, such as gender equality, women's empowerment, the current international situation and Norway's policy and priorities on international cooperation and official development assistance, among others.
