Vientiane, April 19, 2025. The Cuban Embassy in the Lao People's Democratic Republic commemorated, together with members of the Friendship Association and their families, the 64th anniversary of the Bay of Pigs Victory and the proclamation of the socialist character of the Cuban Revolution. Cuban Ambassador Enna Viant reviewed the momentous event, which constituted the first major defeat of the Yankee invader on the Cuban sands of Playa Larga in less than 72 hours. The Bay of Pigs, the diplomat stated, was not only a military victory but also a strategic one.
Messages were also shared at the meeting for the arrival of Pi Mai, a new year, with greater energy, health, happiness, and the desire to contribute to a more prosperous country.
Viant Valdes expressed her gratitude for the consistent and unconditional support, friendship, and solidarity received by Laos in the just struggle for the elimination of the illegal blockade and other bilateral and international efforts.
