The Cuban Ambassador participated in the 4th National Urban Forum, held in this capital under the auspices of UN Habitat and the Minister of Finance, the meeting was of great interest to the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and other national and international actors supporting the process of managing human settlements. The event focused on turning crises into opportunities for resilience.

Official visit of Lao Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane to Cuba comes to an end.

Vientiane, October 4, 2025. Lao Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane concluded a successful stay in Cuba, where he carried out an official visit at the invitation of his Cuban counterpart.

In addition to holding official talks with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, he was received by President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermúdez and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, and visited other socioeconomic and cultural places.

Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz receives the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos.

Vientiane, October 3, 2025. Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz received H.E. Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos. During the meeting, both parties reviewed the state of bilateral relations and agreed on their mutual willingness to continue expanding and strengthening the cooperation in  areas such as education, sports, health, biotechnology, and agriculture.

President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez receives Laosian Minister of Foreign Affairs

Vientiane, October 3, 2025. We have the will to continue expanding our historic relations with Laos, assured President Miguel Diaz-Canel, while welcoming Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The Head of State described the Lao Foreign Minister's official visit as “further evidence of the excellent state of our ties.”

His stay in Cuba marks a milestone in the mutual will of both parties to continue expanding and strengthening them.

Cuban and Laotian Foreign Ministers hold official talks
