Another meeting was held with several generations of members of the Friendship Association and graduates in Cuba to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, as well as the 70th anniversary of the founding of the LPRP and the 105th birthday of the national leader and hero Kaysone Phomvihane.

The Secretary-General of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Thongloun Sisoulith, presided over the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the extraordinary leader Kaysone Phomvihane. Cuba was represented by Ambassador Enna Viant Valdes, along with colleagues from China, Vietnam, Mongolia, Cambodia, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

He denounced an “intimidating and deceitful” pressure campaign by the U.S. government, aimed at changing the traditional and historical vote of several nations, especially in Latin America and Europe, in favor of the resolution against the blockade.
He accused Washington of carrying out a media strategy to distort Cuba’s image and create confusion and fear among United Nations member states.
