Plant friendship tree in Laos to perpetuate bilateral ties

Vientiane, June, 2024.A tree of friendship was planted in Vientiane Park, in this capital, as part of the commemorative activities for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Laos.

This act “will provide a new and special sense of unity and will constitute a symbol of friendship between our peoples, as we rejoice in half a century of ties that have blossomed into solid relations of brotherhood,” said the Cuban ambassador here, Enna Viant.

Cuban Ambassador received by president of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Lao Parliament

Vientiane, June 2024. The Cuban Ambassador to the Lao PDR, Enna Viant Valdes, held a cordial meeting with the president of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Lao National Assembly, Com. Sanya Praseuth, an occasion in which they exchanged on issues of national and international interest and reviewed current issues and agreements between the Parliaments of Cuba and Laos.

Briefing  by the UN National Coordinator in Lao RDR

Vientiane  May 2024. The Ambassador of Cuba in Lao PDR has participated at the briefing on the UN Development System Reform and the Summith of the Future, by Mr. Bakhodir Burkhanov, UN Resident Coordinator to Lao PDR. It was presented the Annual Results Report 2023, the Cooperation Framework Results 2023 and the priorities for 2024 by United Nations Fund Population Agency, United Nation  Children's Fund, United Nation Development Programme and United Nation World Food Programme.

On May 28, the Government of the United States finally announced a group of measures aimed at implementing the policy announced on May 16, 2022.  The purpose of this step, according to the text published by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), is to support the private sector in Cuba.
