The Cuban minister of Foreign Affairs meets the national and foreign media

Vientiane, October 23, 2025. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla highlighted before the national and international press key points that we share below:

He denounced an “intimidating and deceitful” pressure campaign by the U.S. government, aimed at changing the traditional and historical vote of several nations, especially in Latin America and Europe, in favor of the resolution against the blockade.

He accused Washington of carrying out a media strategy to distort Cuba’s image and create confusion and fear among United Nations member states.

He mentioned that he has official communications from the Department of State containing what he called “lies, threats, and Cold War rhetoric,” aimed at coercing sovereign governments.

He reiterated that the blockade is the main cause of Cuba’s economic problems and the primary obstacle to its development, affecting sectors such as health, energy, and food.

He criticized what he considers a disrespect for the sovereignty of other countries and rejected the accusations that Cuba is a “threat to international peace,” defending the island’s pacifist tradition and finally, he expressed his confidence that the international community will once again massively support Cuba's resolution against the blockade, which would represent a victory for International Law and the peoples of the Global South. No to the genocidal blockade against Cuba.

No to the genocide blockade against Cuba.
