The commemoration of this significant anniversary took place with a moving ceremony presided over by the Cuban ambassador to Saint Lucia, Yenielys Vilma Regueiferos Linares, and the head of the Medical Brigade, Dr. Norberts Ramos.
The Venezuelan ambassador, Leiff Escalona, joined the gathering, which also served as a venue for the Beausejour collective's collaborators to sign their unconditional support for military non-intervention in the sister Bolivarian Republic.
Videos honoring Chávez and the words spoken by the Commander in Chief on September 28, 1960, were played at the event, and collaborator Delfina Simón read a poem by Yorkis Sánchez in greeting to the CDR.
The importance of the organization in addressing important challenges facing our people was highlighted, and a discussion was held about the interview given to Granma newspaper by the national coordinator, Gerardo Hernández, a Hero of the Republic of Cuba.
